$ vs hours of play (rpg)
so, since i have not yet found a decent mmorpg to play atm til gw2 will come out (trust me, i have tried a lot...and that's a big understatement).
so in the mean while i use my broadband to dl movies with vuze. so ive turned into rpgs. atm im playing overlord1&2 and torchlight.
Ive been looking at mess affect and dragons age, now, im tight on cash so every time before i buy a game i take a good deep look into it before buying (as tons of other ppl also do).
anyhow back to the subject at hand, what do you think is a good return on your hard labor cash for a game?
is 20 hours of play time is enough? how about 100?
for me, when i look at play time atm, if im paying the full 50$ (and u dont, even dragons age origins was for 47$ the other day, the deluxe digital version.), also how about dlc? in dragon ge u can get the basic game or buy the deluxe with the 2 dlc (each is 5$ and a 3third is on the way).
is 2 hours dlc worth 5$? what is a good ratio between paying/getting enough hours of" good play time" (im not talking about just exploring staff).
BTW next one on my list is going to be the Bard's tale (such a fuuny lil game)

Why not try Spore?
You can get very creative with it and it lasts for hours.

I expect at least an hour per dollar spent. For example - I'm considering whether or not to spend $50 on L4D2. I'm currently in the research step to know whether or not I will be able to play it enjoyably for at least 50 hours. It's why I haven't bought Madden, FIFA, or sports games in general for years now - entertaining, but not enough actual playtime for me.
For the record, Guild Wars is obviously my most hours per dollar spent game.

Cartoony graphics, unfortunately. The early videos actually looked nice; the final product looks like a kiddie game.

While a game has to have a decent length of playtime, that gameplay also has to be enjoyable. A 50 hour game with 10/10 gameplay is better to me than a 7/10 game with 60-70 hours of gameplay.
At the moment the RPG games that have given me the most time played for money have been FO3, Oblivion, Baldur's Gate, GW. If you include all games TF2 and Forza 3 have racked up a fair few hours aswell.

Although Mass Effect is not an MMORPG but just an RPG, it's REALLY worth the money. It's one of the best games I've played and has a very high replay value so you can keep playing it over and over without getting bored I'm currently on my 7th playthrough and I still love it!
